Pennsylvania Collision Trade Guild (PCTG) would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Rick Dotterer. Rick operated Dotterer Auto Body in Royersford Pa over the past several years after moving from the family's original location in the Pottstown area. Unfortunately, Rick was a victim of the Corona virus and lost his battle on Saturday February 20th. It is with heartfelt condolences we are forced to say good bye to a long time friend and collision repair advocate who worked tirelessly to protect consumers’ rights for a safe and proper automobile repair. Rick was a long time member of Pa Collision Trade Guide working to safeguard the rights of Pennsylvania vehicle owners. Rick was also recognized as a member of the national organization, The Coalition for Collision Repair Excellence and held the position of board member and association treasurer. Over the years Rick traveled throughout Pennsylvania as well as nationally to help educate auto body repair shop owners on consumer protection and business management. A second generation shop owner Rick held a deep understanding of the efforts required to succeed in a business outside of third party control. Collision repair independence was always a constant objective as Rick was always open and generous with his time to help anyone in need of guidance. Rick Dotterer was special person and born with the unique capability to strike up a conversation with anyone in any place at any time. He will be missed and it is truly unfair that the Covid virus has taken another innocent sole that went about his life focusing on doing good things and making life better for those he met along the way. Let us pray Rick will Rest in Peace and for all those folks he meets in the afterlife his chats will most certainly help them rest peacefully as well.
